Job and Family Services of Clark County Ohio (JFSCC) works to improve the quality of life for the families and people of Clark County, Ohio by providing support services to meet basic family needs. Their programs include: WorkPlus, which provides employment and job training programs which lead to self sufficiency; BenefitsPlus which provides cash assistance programs, Medicaid services, child care services, and other services to help in emergencies (rent and utility support); Family and Children Services which provides protective services to children and older adults; and Child Support services to promote the well being of children whose parents live apart.

Full Face Lift for Payroll Processing

It was time for a change in the way Human Resources at JFSCC managed its activities. The department was just launching a series of new support services and yet still operating under many manual procedures. For each biweekly payroll period, it was taking one full time payroll person a full week to process payroll, or 50% of that person’s time. Kerry Pedraza, Human Resources Administrator at JFSCC decided she wanted to completely automate the HR, Payroll, and time keeping systems in place at JFSCC. She established an evaluation committee and conducted a thorough market search before deciding upon the Abra Suite for HR and Payroll. The most important requirement for the timekeeping system was that it should be fully integrated with the Abra system, so Kerry asked her Abra consultant, Delphia Consulting, for recommendations on time and attendance. Delphia dutifully recommended three systems to evaluate and EBSTime was the selected system.

Implementation and Support Services

JFSCC decided upon the Web Time Sheet module for data input in addition to the main administrative module for its 300 employee system. The EBSTime modules were installed and implemented directly after the Abra System was implemented. Karena had the following to say about working with EBS on the implementation:
