Founded in 1895 with twenty thousand dollars in capital, Eastern Michigan Bank has now grown into a two hundred million dollar community service bank. The bank presently serves the financial needs of Sanilac & St. Clair County area residents and businesses and has truly achieved their motto, "We've stood the test of time."

Eastern Michigan Bank is now a subsidiary of Eastern Michigan Financial Corporation, a one-bank holding company. They are a state chartered commercial bank which is a publicly owned for profit corporation. The bank's main office is in the city of Croswell. They also have seven full service branch offices located along the eastern side of Croswell in Deckerville, Fort Gratiot, Lakeport, Lexington, Minden City, Port Huron, and Sandusky.

Challenge:

Prior to the purchase of EBSTime product, Eastern Michigan Bank was using a simplified, electronic time- keeping program, which was installed on one of their computers. The program would just display the basic employee time details and it did not have the capability to generate any of the reports which were required. It also did not possess the functionality to setup triggers for holidays, rounding of time, etc.

This application which was in use at Eastern Michigan Bank was also causing a number of Payroll issues. The most troublesome issue was duplicate entry of time punches. All hours entered in the time-clock keeping program had to be transcribed into an MS-Excel spreadsheet. Then, those hours had to be manually typed into Abra which was a tedious & time consuming task. This duplicate entry of time was a major deterrent for them, and amounted to adding several hours of processing time for every payroll run.

Solution:

Eastern Michigan bank was therefore very eager to upgrade to a new Time & Attendance program which would be more automated and fully integrated with Abra Payroll.

Through an exhaustive Internet search, they found that Employee Based Systems had developed a fully automated Time & Attendance management system which would meet all their requirements.
