Pat Soissong Controller
Cooper Caywood President, I.C. Bleu |
Catering to business and leisure travelers alike, the boutique-style Quorum Hotel Tampa offers a unique blend of amenities and services. The recently renovated Quorum features 272 guest rooms, 13,500 square feet of flexible meeting and function space in a classic Florida design. The Quorum selected the EBSTime system after learning that the time and attendance system already in place was not fulfilling all their needs.
The Importance of Biometrics:
Cooper Caywood, President of I.C. Bleu, the Sage Abra consultant for
the Quorum was informed of the issues surrounding time and attendance at
the Quorum. He immediately brought in Employee Based Systems.
"The hotel industry in general has experienced problems with “buddy punching”, and Quorum was no exception. I knew that Employee Based Systems had some excellent biometric clocks and a great Abra interface, so I saw them as my vendor of choice right away." - Cooper Caywood, President I.C. Bleu
Seamless Payroll Integration and Synchronization:
The driving factor for
the Quorum in replacing its old time and attendance system was the need for better integration with the Sage Abra payroll system in use at the hotel. After evaluating several products, EBSTime was selected because of its superior integration and synchronization capabilities with the Sage Abra Payroll suite.
"EBSTime allowed us to transfer all the information we wanted with Abra Payroll
and not just the time and attendance information like the previous system we had been using." - Pat Soissong, Controller
Pat especially likes the fact that when a new employee is hired, there is no duplicate data entry. Abra acts as the master application where
supervisor can add new employee information and make changes to employee data (promotions, salary increases, address changes, etc.). EBSTime acts as the subsidiary application by automatically importing data from Abra on a pre-determined schedule which is configurable within the system. The two systems are always synchronized with no human intervention required. One never has to give it any further thought after the synchronization is set up.
User Friendly:
The managers and users of the EBSTime system have all found
the product to be very easy to learn and very easy to use. The Quorum decided to use biometric time clocks to prevent any attempts at "buddy punching". Pat Soissong had the following to say about the user friendly aspects of the system:
"The system is very user friendly, and training sessions are a breeze because everyone catches on immediately. My managers also appreciate the fact that the missing punches are so easily noticed because of the way they are flagged within EBSTime."
Delivering on the Promise:
The EBSTime system was delivered in a timely manner, and the implementation was smooth and uneventful. The Quorum has been in production with EBSTime for about one year, and
it has been both reliable and dependable. Says Soissong,
"The system does exactly
what it is supposed to do,
and we have none of the
problems with downtime that
we had with other systems. I
wish all our systems were this reliable."
This is just one case where Employee Based Systems helped a customer. You could be our next success story.
